What causes acne?
The combination of two glands play a large part in the formation of acne. The oil producing gland known as sebaceous glands and the sudoriparous gland that produce sweat, create an acid mantle across the skin that is not only a healthy function but necessary to protect and nourish the skin.
Acne occurs when your pores become ‘clogged’ with sebum, dead skin cells and bacteria that is normally present on your skin. Often the walls of a clogged pore can become damaged. If this occurs the bacteria and dead skin cells work their way under live skin cells. This results in an infection that is evident by the development of pimples with redness. The deeper the clogged pore the worse the infection becomes often causing a cyst.
How does laser acne treatment work?
Laser Acne treatments are the modern way of getting rid of acne. Glo Medical Spa acne laser treatments are designed to kill the bacteria that causes bad inflammatory acne. The laser energy penetrates the top layer of your skin, heating and eradicating some of the bacteria that live in your blocked pores. The laser also heats the glands that produce your skin oil, which can shrink them and cause them to secrete less oil. The main objective of achieving a laser treatment for acne is to destroy the bacteria seeded in the pores and thus repairing affected skin tissue. Laser therapy can be an effective treatment even for acne that is resistant to peels and other topical medications. Our laser offers a safe treatment for acne on the face, chest or back. Laser acne treatments are also an alternative for clients who wish to avoid taking medications with undesirable side effects.
